Introduction

The Research & Development Centre at Sewree, Mumbai was established in 1983 and recognized by Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, MoS&T. The R&D Centre has highly skilled and experienced Scientists & Engineers capable of developing various types of lubricant products, innovatively, using modern technology. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment / facilities for testing of lubricants, greases and fuels besides certain rig & performance tests required for developing new lubricants as well as upgrading the existing products on continuous basis. This R&D has published various research papers in National and International Conferences and received prizes at various levels.

The main focus is on development of new products, alternate formulations, conducting field trials and offering prompt technical service to customers and marketing functions. R&D has been actively associated with automotive majors in the country for developing genuine oils meeting their stringent in-house tests and international specifications. Also, this R&D centre is actively involved in the latest research for developing lubricants based on frontier technologies.

Major Achievements

• R&D developed more than 400 lubricants formulations to its credit
• This R&D Centre is proud to be the core in launching of India’s first ever branded fuel "SPEED"
• Trendsetters in introducing Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oils, Petrol Engine Oils, 2T & 4T engine oils, customer specific lubricants.
• Successfully conducted large scale field trials for evaluating various lubricants with Indian Railways, various State Road Transport Corporations, Fleet Operators and OEMs.

• High performance engine oils for engines meeting the latest emission norms, Euro I, Euro II & Euro III, in the country.
• Fully synthetic Biodegradable two stroke engine oil for outboard Marine engines.
• Multigrade Rail Road engine oils having potential to save both fuel and lubricants
• Exclusive multigrade engine oils suitable for extreme ambient temperatures for Defence.
